Are Prize Competitions allowed on TikTok, Snapchat & X, or Do They Require RMG Approval Similar to Meta?

Written by Alice Takacs

For advertising on these platforms, you need to get approved by their Ad teams.

For more info view these Articles by the platforms.

  1. There is no RMG for TikTok; you need to verify your ad account and normal organic account with your business details, like the Companies House doc and ID.

    Most Common Flags:

    UK targeting only

No cash or stacks of cash on landing page or videos

No casino elements - poker chips/ spin the wheel

Cannot mention "Life Changing" or similar

    Policy Requirements:

Show through ads only - Ads should be created in ad only mode. Please see attached
"18+, No Purchase Necessary, T&C's Apply" disclaimer should be added for the whole duration of the video. (Can be added to bottom of the video but this is up to the advertiser)

    Additional Guidance for ad videos:

Not allowed to suggest that winning is likely or easy - "win this dream home/car/watch" instead use “a chance to win,” “enter to win,” or “you could win,” which make it clear that winning is possible but not certain.
Suggest that winning is easy, likely, or can substitute for employment or primary income. Also wording similar to "life changing", "quit your job", "Hurry", "Quick", "Selling out", "Youll regret it", "Dont lose your chance" "You could be next"
Including excessive or over-the-top enticements to participate eg stacks of cash in the video is prohibited

    Additional Guidance for Landing Pages:

Terms and conditions of the competitions must be visible (T&Cs must comply with their target market (UK) and that these T&Cs are made readily available for users to review, either directly on the ad creative or on the Landing Page (a link to the T&Cs is also permitted). UK Only
Remove any gambling elements: slot machines, wheels etc
